Braves' Host Knocks It Out of the Park as Avery Guest Reader
Atlanta Braves In-Game Host Otis Oshow dropped in at Avery Elementary School Friday morning to read to Heather Garrett's third-grade class. Ms. Garrett, a die-hard Braves fan whose classroom is decorated with an Atlanta Braves theme, had met Oshow at a Braves game and reached out via social media with an invite to read to her class-- which he happily accepted. Braves fans will recognize Oshow as the announcer who appears on the ballpark's jumbo scoreboard screen for all the contests and happenings around Truist Park between innings-- such as Beat the Freeze, Stolen Base Challenge and other games involving Braves stats and trivia. Oshow read baseball legend Derek Jeter's children's book "Night at the Stadium" and also answered lots of questions from students and signed autographs.
