CCSD Elementary Students Win at Science Olympiad

Cherokee County School District students tested their STEM knowledge and skills at an annual districtwide competition, with teams now advancing to state competition!

Students from elementary schools throughout CCSD competed in the Cherokee County Science Olympiad, which offered 18 science challenges and the fourth annual CCSD Speed Building Competition.  The overall winning teams are: first place, Carmel Elementary School; second place, Avery Elementary School; and third place, Bascomb Elementary School!  They now advance to the state competition in May at Kennesaw State University.  Congratulations to our winners and their teacher coaches and thank you to sponsors, Cobb Electric Membership Corporation and Gas South!  Our School Board is laser focused on ensuring our students are learning more, growing more, and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else.
